For a town with under 2000 citizens, the cultural delights on offer are quite staggering.

 

HowTheLightGetsIn – Nestled beneath the Black Mountains, on the Banks of the River Wye, you’ll find the hottest music acts, the world’s leading thinkers, an outrageous cast of hand-picked comedians and a host of unforgettable performers coming together for four days of exploration and revelry.

Hay Literature Festival takes place each June and is estimated to bring half a million tourists to the town. Previous highlights at the event have included Stephen Fry, Tim Minchin, Eric Schmidt and Bill Clinton who famously described Hay as “Woodstock for the mind”.

More recent additions to Hay’s scene include Hay Walking Festival  in October and Hay Cycling Festival
